Being bored is a state of mind. Sure, the current system of secondary education isn't perfect. Sure, the system emphasizes memorization of facts over practical hands-on knowledge. Sure the school systems have trouble attracting and retaining quality teachers.
But in the end, it will all boil down to you. If you can find the keys to motivate yourself to do well in school, you can do interesting and amazing things with your life.

School was boring for me only in the classes I did not have an interest in. Sure it wasn't fun going everyday, but I really did well in the classes where I was interested in what we learned. I enjoyed science, history, even some literature. I suggest that you study some things that you are interested in and use the time you have wisely. If you aren't interested in anything you are currently studying, be patient and in the future try to seek out things you find interesting.

Public education was originally designed to train people the bare minimum so that they could work in a factory. School does not teach you how to learn or really any marketable skills either. You are taught facts. Facts are nice to learn but I think that there needs to be more hands on approach. We watched a film in Social Problems where in Germany kids are taught a marketable skill and given a job with that company after graduation. Public school sucks, college is fun.

You're lucky to be going to school now. When I was in school, teachers would hit you if you didn't do something...School's boring, but it's meant to prepare you for the future. You won't necessarily ever need to know how to find the roots of a quadratic function, but it will get you to think a certain way.

Here's two reasons.
We don't pay teachers enough. People who are exciting speakers and can motivate people can earn far more money doing something else. Some are teachers because they love to teach, and, if you're lucky, you'll get some of those.
Students want to do the bare minimum to get by. If you take the initiative to go beyond your classwork and learn more, school will become much more interesting. Takes work and time, of course.

Because, while you are at school, your parents go to a meeting, with all other parents. They plot to start forcing children the chuck PB&J sandwich's at cars, then force you to clean it up, why they hire that nanny 911 girl to yekk at you! After that, they will drop a pool full of home work on you, forcing you to do it all, wasting your summer. And then you will go to school, and they will suck out your brain, so you never remember what happened! Then, you will do it all over again, every year. This plan will start in 2009, they hope!

Some of the information is uneccesary, and some is not presented well. School is mainly to learn, but it's aim has swayed over the years.
