In the movies, someone will flash some money and say, "Gee, I really wish you could give me that persons address." The unspoken deal is "I'll give you this money if you give me the info." I was wondering if this was just done in the movies or if it happens in real life. Please tell me if you've made this kind of deal with someone, what the amount was you gave this person and what you paid them money for. Thanks.

In London it is often used, mainly called a bung or a favour. You can ask someone if they are open to a little bribe by saying 'what's the SP on this thing' (SP= starting price)

The answer might be ' let's call it a score (20) or 'That'll cost you a monkey (500) guv'

I havent personally done it but I would not be surprised if it really does happen. It will not be as easy as it is in the movies but everyone has a price and can be bought.
