The best thing a parent can give to his/her child(ren) is morals, values, and the confidence to take on the world.

I left mine a 'legacy admit' to UCD. Ungrateful little cur chose another school. And no - it wasn't Yale or Harvard.

I also raised him to be compassionate, kind and respectful of others. I taught him to be curious about the world and learn about it rather than make snap judgments. I also tried to instill a sense of humor in my son.

I'm very proud of my son. He's nearly done with his bachelor's degree and has never been in trouble or been rude or disrespectful or mean. I think I gave him a fairly decent legacy.

Raise your children to be honest, ethical people who will treat others the way they want to be treated. You can always stand tall when you know you have been honest and fair to the best of your ability.

the best thing my parents did for me is to raise me up right being able to manage money, live on my own, rely on myself finacially. I am thirty years old and have never had to borrow money from my parents.....I would like to believe that they know if they were to ever leave this world I would be able to survive on my own. I think it gives them peace to know I will be okay.

I'm doing my best to teach my daughter how to have a relationship with God. That's the most important thing to me.

To teach them how to be critical thinkers. To teach them to make decisions for themselves. To get to a point where we can tell them "Here are the options, here is my opinion, and I will support whatever choice you make"
