When he shined it at other people, it was not a round circle. It was a big flash of red light. I'm worried what will happen to me. Do I have eye damage and can I prevent this from happening in the future?

No, u do not have eye damage, but it is not good for your eyes.

I'm not sure but I think a laser would have caused damage very shortly after hitting your eye. You can prevent it from happening again by telling first the teacher, then the principal or assistant principal. You poor kid.

He didn't poke the laser in your eye, did he?
You'll be fine...I've had tons of lasers shined in my eyes, most production ones won't do any serious damage unless for an elongated period of time.

It shouldn't be a problem but if you start to get headaches see an eye doctor.
Don't pay ANY TYPE of attention to the jerk doing the shining ~~~ he'll get bored and go away all by himself.

If it happened for a quick instant, you should be alright. If it happens again, either report it, or take the pointer away from him, depending on what your authority is.
