Well I have only been able to insert a tampon 3 times, and only once was it done correctly (the first time). But I have a concern: what am I doing wrong when inserting the tampon if I can get it all the way in, but then when I sit up it kills? If it was at the wrong angle, then why did it go in? Now that this has happened twice now I'm afriad to keep trying them because it friggin kills to take them out when they are dry. Help?

But I don't know if "it's not all the way in" is the case because I keep ushing it till it hurts, so I'm pretty sure it can't go in any farther. idk I'm doomed...

Dont put it in straight up...that really really hurts. You have to point it more towards you're butt, in the back. Just hold it twoards your butt, but at a noticable angle, not just a little bit. THen just stick it up there. Push until you're fingers touch your "area" even lightly. Push it in slowly so you know when it hurts. As soon as you start to feel uncomfortable or it hurts, stop pushing and take out the applicator. THen it should work but if it doesnt then I would ask someone (mom, olser sister, aunt) anyone, or even a friend who uses tampons. Anyone you feel comfortable around. I had to learn from my sister because my mom died, but just have them help you (awkward i know) but it will feel much better and it shouldn't hurt much. It will feel uncomfortable the first like 1-10 times. After that you shouldnt even be able to tell.

It probably hurts when you sit up because you don't have it in all the way. Don't be scared to push it really far in there, it can't get lost inside you.

If it hurts to take out when it's dry, you could either try changing your tampon more often or even using a smaller size.

Also, try to relax when you are putting it in and taking it out, it helps.

Practice with the smaller size. Put a little KY Jelly on them to grease it up a little. That way, if it goes in wrong, you can pull it out without the pain to try again.
Do not use Vaseline or baby oil. Those heavy oils can hurt your insides.

1. try a smaller size, if you arent already at the smallest.
2. when putting it in, aim towards your lower back.
3. be sure to push it in all the way once you have the applicator held there. don't be afraid of pushing it too far up...as long as the string sticks out a bit, you're good.

it may be that you are to dry when you insert it, you can try using some lubricant on the applicator and it may not hurt as bad. you may be using a tampon that is to large for your flow, try a lighter tampon,or sadly you may be one of the unlucky ones who won't be able to use a tampon. If it is of any consolation, I use them and they always cause me some pain because of the way my cervix is tilted.

unsure of "when you sit up" are you lying down if so try sitting on the toilet with legs spread out. most tampons have a ribbed section as to where your finger are on it. when they reach the outside stop, push the end of the applicator to remove tampon into you.. you maybe putting it in to far. plus remove the applicator(plastic or cardboard section)
