The Kennedy Bicentennial issue clad half dollar of 1976 is a very common coin, and even in brilliant uncirculated condition it's worth only about $1 to $1.50. Circulated conditions are worth the face value, but normally the public will keep these half dollars as souvenirs or as novelty items instead of spending them. This coin has a mintage of 234,308,000(minted in Philadelphia) and 287,565,248(minted in Denver), and these huge figures have been keeping the values down for the past decades, and probably decades to come. Nice finds though. Congrats on your new job and best of luck over there.

With a mintage of 234,308,000 from the Philadelphia mint and 287,565,248 from the Denver mint (Mint mark D below head but above date) It is not a rare or scarce item, for most were saved by the general public. As time goes by people will spend them for a circulated one has no collector value and a mint state one, is only a dollar or two. It is a neat coin and one of the first circulating commemorative's by the mint.
