Wow. The collective purpose of America is, like all nations and/or states, to survive.

If you'll permit me to limit my response to the current republic, it exists so that it can have a more perfect union, establish justice, ensure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and to our posterity.
