There are a few different models to choose from:
iPod shuffle - cute, diff. colors avail. clip-on 1gb for up to $99 USD. great if you have a routine # of songs you like to workout or run to. the con: it only holds 1gb- that amounts to about 250 songs +/-
iPod Nano - comes in 2gb, 4gb or 8gb sizes, also in diff. colors
for $149,$199, and $249 holds more songs, plus is nice and small. Also can be used with nike+ shoes for workout and training
iPod(video) 30gb or 80gb-
I have this one, I like the best even though its not as conveniently small as the others. It has video and photo capability so if you want to bring your photos around without carrying your camera you can, and if you want to watch video clips or movies while you're waiting on the subway or during a long car/plane ride (provided you're not driving!). Also, I have burned my entire cd collection to itunes and can put onto my ipod AND I still have room for more. I have the 30gb version, the 80gb is for if you plan on using and watching a lot of video files. there's also a U2 iPod Video, but I think the only thing different about it is that you pay a heftier price to have the engraved signatures of the band members on the back of the iPod. Not really worth it unless you're a collector. The iPod Video starts at $249 (or less if you look around online) and the 80gb is $349. Oh, and the other reason I love the iPod video is that if you want to watch your video content on your TV(and actually see the video without straining), you just need the $20 av converter cables and you can hook up straight to your tv. Great if you want to watch youtube videos or your favorite podcast or tv shows along with you without having to lug a DVD case or bookcase of CD/DVDs along

Depends on what kind: nano, mini, shuffle, or video iPod.
They come in different colors, with different memory space. The more space (to hold more songs/videos) the more expensive.
You can shop around and find good deals on amazon.com or ebay.com, most often the price of an iPod ranges from $100-400, depending on how fancy the one you choose is. And believe me, you don't always NEED the fancier kind. Hope this helps. :)

umm, ipods fee approximately, at maximum inexpensive aboot $one hundred, i advise im english so i dont recognize what that the pound to dollar flow would be, yet as quickly as you have the ipod you may acquire songs for unfastened very particularly, use web pages like limewire or morbius.. sturdy success with that... wish it works
