i'm looking to install a 2nd internal hard drive? ATA-150 hd interface, what others are compatible?

I have a dell dimension e510 with an ATA-150 hard drive interface.

I think you mean SATA-150.... there is no ATA 150.
I suggest getting a SATA-300 drive so that if & when you upgrade to a SATA-300 controller you will have a drive that can take full advantage of it.

There is a jumper on the new SATA-300 drives that allow them to work in motherboards that only support SATA-150.

I recomend Seagate or Western Digital ... they are the leaders ....all other brands just follow.


EDIT *** I appreciate the correction in the next answer, however, on the very link provided as PROOF of ATA-150 the drives are clearly marked as being SATA DRIVES....
..... the correct term is SATA -150....or SERIAL ATA-150.
Some advertisements there are using a "misnomer" with the term ATA-150.

I beg to differ with Phillip T.yes there is ata-150s.and just about all ata interface hard drives are interchangeable...here is the proof that ata-150s exist...good luck
