I Know that the 1st season was produced by Neal Marlens and Carol Black, then they quit and Michael Dinner took over, I suspect that was the reason because other shows Dinner has produced are so bad, but then again, Marlens & Black are to blame for Ellen, so maybe its the directors.

It always seems like the first season of any show is usually good, then seasons that follow usually end up being flops. But, Directors do have alot to do with how a show succeeds. =)

They were all good. That show was one of the best ever. I liked the last few seasons better, actually.

They were running out of directions to take the characters in. Good things don't last forever.
