With lots of prayer and conversation with God. The person I married has turned me into something I hate.

Trying to determine what's 'you' could also be construed as a 'projection' since what you are attempting is to get at some sort of 'truth', which is really a truth more acceptable to you than some other 'truth.'

You are 'you' no matter what you do, so even a projection is a part of the real 'you'. The permanence and/or transience of ourselves does not detract from the overall compendium that is who we are.

I don't play word games. And I study peoples' actions (getting much better at that) as opposed to what they say... which is often aimed at eliciting a response of some kind based on their preception or desire.

The final tests are always actions and attitude. Attitude takes much longer to figure out , however, because people can act for fairly long periods of time, but if you are around them long enough, the mask slips, and you get a peek.
