Does remote desktop work if you have dial-up internet? If so, do both computers have to have dial-up? I have cable, and I want to connect to a pc that has a dial-up connection...is that possible??

Yes it's possible, no you don't both need dialup.

The remote user (the other person with dialup) will need to find their external IP every time you need to connect. Have them go to http://whatsmyip.org/ and get their IP. If they disconnect, they will need to do that again before the remote desktop connection will work.

Obviously, this is all assuming that the remote user has remote assistance enabled and you understand how to connect.

You don't need to have both of them on the same connection e.g. dialup as long as both are working on the Internet then you can access, but dialup would be slower for sure.
