I agree with Campo, down there. :) Just look in your local newspaper, or even those cheap flyer type newspapers they have in restaraunts for opportunities.I've seen casting calls in there alot. Nowcasting.com also has a great section on Newbies. The obvious answer, which you've already heard, would be to get an agent and go to CA or NYC, But even living in a big metropolis can help too. Get involved with a theatre and make connections with people who have been on tv or film. Talk yourself up, and ask how they did it. Even if you never get on TV, this will make you some great friends, and will boost up your resume, which could help with the agent, which could help with the whole moving to California thing. I mean, I got an extra part on NBC's Friday Night Lights by being in my high school band. You can find opporuntities everywhere. Dont give up...your time will come!

Most TV shows are shot in LA, New York, Vancouver, and Toronto. Go to one of those cities if you are serious. There is a lot of acting opportunities out there wherever you are. Local theater, music video, commercials, etc. They all have casting calls or extra calls. Get your face out there, live it and breathe it, and maybe you'll get lucky!

Try to get on one of those reality shows, like that new york, flavor so many others. It'll be a start, at least get your feet in the door first. Look even j lo used to be back up dancer or was it singer, before singing or anything else on her own. At first you have to do and be like most have done, don't be picky.

Get as much experience, exposure, and training as possible. Get yourself a resume, headshot, and agency representation. Then start auditioning.

Yes, I have been on TV - shows and commercials! Good luck to you!

Its easier starting out locally, depending on where you live. Start with auditions for small theatre groups, learn how to act. Then keep going to auditons wherever you find them and don't give up.
