I think you need to cite the source for it. If many people know it not by looking it up, it is common knowledge. It is common knowledge if you did not look that information up somewhere. If you did look it up, you need to cite it.

As written, the sentence is common knowledge. But, as often is the case, common knowledge is misleading or wrong. You should cite it so you can blame someone else for the incorrect information.

This needs to be cited, otherwise its just and opinion. (one I would agree with..but still an opinion without citation). It also needs some corresponding data to validate it, I feel. It should be cited.

I'd go with common knowledge. unless you need more citations.. if you do, then.. use it.
