I'd be worried if you weren't nervous. It's a pretty normal reaction, so although you might not be able to tell, there will be plenty of other kids who are also nervous. And if you can't see it in them, chances are they won't be able to tell that you're nervous, either
Being away from home can be hard, so I would suggest taking one of your mom's sweaters or shirts that she's worn but didn't wash. It'll have her scent on it and you can slip it on if you get really homesick and imagine that she's there with you. Also, try to find out what the camp's policy is for getting you home if it turns out you just can't bring yourself to stay.
But honestly, they should keep you pretty busy so that by the time you hit the bunk, you're gonna be really tired and ready to sleep.
I was a camp counselor one summer for the Girl Scouts, and a leader for 10 years. I've seen all kinds of homesick woes, from "I can't sleep" all the way to "My stomach hurts" and lots of things in-between. You don't say how old you are, but you strike me as intelligent (no spelling errors and good sentence structure), so I imagine you have a good general attitude toward trying this as something new. Who knows - you may meet new friends who become an important part of your life, or you might try your hand at something and discover you have a gift or talent for it.
I love camping and hope you have a great time. I know it's still a while before you go, but I'd love to hear from you when you get back. I'm guessing you'll have a bunch of stories to tell!!

It is hard to go away from home the first time, but I bet after a few hours of feeling nervous, you will feel a bit more at home in your camp.
I remember the first time I went to an away camp I was totally nervous but once I arrived, got unpacked and met everyone, I felt entirely better and realized as much as I love being at home, I was really going to enjoy the experience of being away and being 100% immersed in basketball for two weeks. So I think your best bet is to take a picture of your family with you so you have them with you at all times, and try to make friends and enjoy it. I bet you'll have a blast.

Parents want the best opportunities for their children. They want them to have whatever it takes to be happy and successful good health, ability to get along with others, thinking and problem solving skills, a good self concept. Camp helps children build self confidence and self esteem by removing the kind of academic, athletic and social competition that shapes their lives at school. With its non competitive activities and diverse opportunities to succeed, camp life is a real boost for young people. There’s accomplishment every day.
