My maternal grandfather was Irish and my paternal grandmother was Irish. I've never been to Ireland. I would like to go sometime.
If you're interested in reading about Ireland and the Irish people a really good book is Last of the Donkey Pilgrims by Kevin O'Hara. It's written by an American man who's family came from Ireland. He spent a year walking around Ireland with a donkey and a cart, getting to know the people and seeing the land. It's a great book. (-:

I am part Irish. My maternal grandmother's family came from County Cork I believe. I have not been to Ireland yet. My maternal grandmother went a few years ago for her first time and she is in her late 80s now.
