Simply because even in a recession elsewhere its far better then the Philippines. The Philippines has a some REAL unemployment rate of around 28%. However the government says its smaller as they count someone who happens to sell a bottle of water or a couple cigarettes making 5 peso's profit a day as self employed.... not to think that 5 peso's is less then 1 dime US. Then also the working wages for most is less then $2 a day, good jobs pay $4-5 a day which is barely enough to live on in the Philippines. Their is NO future, if your not one of the elite you will never accomplish anything in the Philippines. The government is corrupt and fully run by the old spanish 200 or so elite families and no one outside of those families is ever allowed real success as they will bleed you dry. Nurses here after graduating have to work for FREE for a few years before they stand a chance of being hired as a nurse into a hospital that pays them crap wages (or before they can go overseas). Seriously the problems are so serious for the average Filipino that almost any country is better.
