The stuff in My Documents is usually just files, of some type or another, and you won't harm you computer by deleting them. You may regret getting rid of them, because they are important to you, but they are not important to your computer.

You probably don't have your computer set to display the file extensions [the letters after a dot that tell what kind of file it is], and rely on the icon type to suggest what kind of file it is, like the sail in the sunset for .jpg files.

I find it easier to let windows display the file type, instead of memorizing all the icon types, which sometimes only show what program opens them.

In any case, files like image files, text files, doc files, video files etc. can be safely deleted.

Yes you can delete duplicate files in your folder. They take up unnecessary space.

Typically, anything YOU created, YOU can delete. Unless you PUT them in two places - they only may be residing in one place - and look like they're in two places (to a new user).... so be careful.

You can try deleting ONE picture and then try to open it in the other place you think it is. If it opens, then there were two of them.... if it doesn't - you can always go into your trashcan and restore it. Try 1 first.

in line with what utility you make the main of, maximum have a 'type' of backup called 'incremental'. this protects changes to old archives, and new additions, yet not 're-doing' archives already subsidized up. look into your utility for information & steps.
