You need to have longer sleep.

People should have at least 8 hours of sleep a night.

Many studies have shown that less than this can cause less satisfaction in life and in association with other risk factors increases your rick of heart disease, stress and also ...dark rings round your eyes.

Some people also buy those cosmetics which say they are specifically for eye wrinkles and dark lines, I dont know how good these are but your always best takling the cause.

This is NOT a sign of Iron deficiency. Do not take Iron for this, you will have Black poo and will be constipated. Iron is for the treatment of Iron deficiency anaemia (which is characterised by: Fatigue, PALENESS in skin and conjunctiva, Koilonychia (nails look like spoons), angular stomatitis (sores in thecorner of your mouth), Glossitis (large red inflammed tongue) Unless you have these symptoms dont take Iron, just go to bed earlier, and have a good nights kip.

There are a great number of reasons why you could have dark circles under your eyes, I can outline afew I know and the solutions that best suit them, but its worth seeing yoour doctor if you have any other symptoms.

1. It could be due to low iron, this will also make you feel lethargic and worn out all the time. Its called anemia, its one thing to advise you to take iron tablets and eat more colourful fruit and green leafy vegetables, but your doctor could probably prescribe you iron tablets at a more precise dose. (eating 5 a day fruit and veg will do you no harm tho!)

2. It could be due to your liver being worn out- too many toxins put stress on the liver, and often the bodies response to this will be dull skin and dark circles around your eyes. Have you been overdoing the drink/smoking/drugs? or eating too much junk food? these could all be the reason your liver has become overloaded with toxins and its showing up else where on your body (meaning your eyes) To counter act this, drink lots of water- aim for 2 litres at least a day, dont exceed 3 though, it does no good. Also eat fruit and vegetables and excercise, the toxins in your liver will filter out faster and your eyes will return to normal.

3. Similar to the point above, if you have been burning the candle at both ends and not sleeping enough, it puts pressure on your vital organs, as when you are asleep your body starts to repair itself, liver included. If you dont get enough sleep, your liver doesnt efficiently clean out and the toxins build up. And thus showing under your eyes. to chane this, try to get more sleep, 7 to 9 hours is the recommended amount for nan adult. More if you are under 18 and more again if you are a child (under 10).

4. It could be genetic. Do either of your parents or grand parents have dark circles under their eyes? some people are born with genetics which mean they have dark circles under their eyes and theres nothing they or anyone can really do about it- save going under the knife.

Hope this hgas helped a little. If it really gets you down and you cant think what it is, go see a doctor,, it could be a symptom of a bigger problem.

Get plenty sleep, drink lots of water and if this fails Benefit do a concealer called bo-ing, I think (can't remember the exact name of it) which does wonders.

Maybe you are too stressed over something and maybe you need more sleep. There is probably some lotion or something out there that would help too.
