The 70s? How about the 50s? I always had a good time with one. The yo-yo rep used to come around and do exhibitions in front of the local candy store, and have contest among those of use kids who showed up. In those days, they were wood, not plastic.

Yes. I had a Duncan Imperial. It was a see-through, dark blue. I never did get the hang of it. My 13 year old son is a whiz with a yo yo. Maybe it's a guy thing!
