I totally agree with you 100% !!!!! I am 16, have never had a bf, or even wanted to. I have been asked out before but I didn't accept their offers. I have so muh I want to do in my life. I want to have a good career that I am passionate about & enjoy, and pays well- I'm going to be a Registered Nurse. I am also going t adopt children, and make sure I have a stable loving home for them. I care alot about my education, and I have ambition & a desire to work, several girls in my grade say that they just want to marry an old rich guy, and not have to work or have kids, just do nothing, and take all his money. I want to work and have kids. I have no desire to have sex or a relationship, I'm serious, I could care less if I ever have a relationship or have sex. If I find a guy ( much later) then its ok but I dont really care. I was never one of those little girls that dreamed about thier wedding day ect. I've always wanted kids, pets, a nice house & car, and a job that I enjoy & look forward to. I don't party, drink, smoke, or do drugs & I have no intentions of trying. I know many that do but that is ot who I am. But to answer your question, I've heard many girls in my class say that they have sex becuase its fun, exciting & feels good, some that like to be protected by guys, and some to drive them around & give them money. Its also quite popular now to do drugs & have sex. But that does not make it right.I guess the reasons vary. But I have my dreams & I WILL reach them with diginity, morals, courage, integritiy, and being myself. Best of Luck, and good for you!

Just because someone dates when they are in their teens doesn't mean they are having sex, and some guys do take relationships seriously. I enjoy having a boyfriend but I can live with being single also. I think that dating during high school prepares a person for the future and what is to come in their social life and relationships in the future. I think that it helps you open up and learn who you are as well as learn about what kind of guys you are interested in. And not all older guys are more mature. The oldest boyfriend I've had is 21 now, we were dating when he was 19, and he is still an immature jerk. I don't think maturity is based on age but on experience and personality. And I still stand by the fact that dating during the teen years are a good thing.

To answer your question: hormones. The human body starts undergoing puberty during adolescence and with it comes constant thoughts about sex. It's natural, though some people find it repulsive.
Most guys don't want a super serious relationship in high school because unless the girl is really worth it, it's just a waste of time. Like you said they probably won't be the boyfriend after a couple months and then she'll be off with some new guy. Also, who wants a serious relationship in high school? Again, unless the girl is really worth it, it's just something keeping him back. A girlfriend wants constant attention and late night phone calls, dates, spend time with her, it's too much for a high school guy. We just want a good time and "experimentation". Yet, this doesn't necessarily make for a better society.
The romance and all that other BS is good for when people are dating in their twenties, but as long as high school is in session, it's avida loca--staying focused on what a teenage wants for the rest of their life.

I'm like you. I'm 15 and I've never had a boyfriend, been on a date, or had sex (and I don't plan on having sex anytime soon). Right now, I'd rather just focus on my education and on having good friends. I'll have plenty of time to have relationships later on, so I think I'm better off focusing on doing well in highschool, which will affect my future (college and career), than on a boyfriend who probably won't last more than a month.

I felt the same way you do when I was 15: I would have rather spent my time on school & my future.
6-7 months, I met a WONDERFUL guy. He was the first guy I even held hands w/ for goodness sake! Four years later, we are still together & truly happy. We have never broken up...Never wanted to. I'm still focusing on the future, but I also have him by side every step of the way.
I didn't waste my time, & I know one day you'll find someone special & look back & feel the same way I do.
Try to not be so negative. :] Things happen for a reason.

ya . i agree to ur question . i am 17 nd i had nearly upto 15 proposals . i dont know y boys r so interested in that than their future . as girls r more affected than boys or boys r not at all affected than their own happiness . u r very matured girl . at this age i too had the same feelings with my friends . anyway only boys induce girls in these b'coz girls do not start in this . this can change only if boys change their minds
i had ceremony in our school on the reltionship bet teen boys n girls . wen we talk to a boy in our age he has a mind of boy who is only of 10 yrs . then a 17 yr old boy have a mind , the way of talkin , like a 10 - 12 yr boy . a boy when talks to u he should only see ur eyes wen talkin . or if he see's any other part except ur eyes he is interested in u in some other ways . so always b careful when talkin to boys even if it is ur brothers . never believe ur bro's and ur bro's friend . i am in india n i had bad experience with my bro

Awesome. I waited til I was 17 and wished I would have waited longer. They are so obsessed because it is so glorified by tv and celebs also kids now days are more outspoken about it so you hear about it more often and it is no longer frowned upon as much as it used to be. Thumbs up for being the way you r my sister is 23 and never been kissed and I truly admire her for itl.

Hey Congratulations: I think your a smart young lady, most boys only have one thing in mind, and as a Minister I should be careful on how I say this but the truth is the truth. Most boys think with the brain in their boxers not the one God intended them to think with. Girls were gifts to us from a loving God who are to be our help mates, not our sex toy or property. Most boys do what they see their fathers doing. Because of this many families suffer, marriages end and relationships turn violent. I say guys need to think with their brains on their shoulders not the one in your boxers if you want a girl to love you for who you are love her for who she is not what is fun for a few minutes.

i really dont know y kids that age worry about it.. im 18 and im in my first real relationship, and i was kinda like them.. and i really dont know y i was so ubsessed with being in a relationship and dating.. it seems stupid now, because it was a waste with the other guys i went out with when i was younger.. like my boyfriend says"**** happens" you never know when somethings coming your way and you never know if you and the person youre in a relationship with will even last.
you sound responsible..there are not many girls like you..youre going to make it far.. whilst other girls are getting pregnant young and not doing anything with their lives.... your aa definite role model
