Could my parents get arrested if the friend is under the age of 18?

charge them rent and they will leave, you are not harboring a fugitive, but your parents will notify their parents. That will happen.

It depends on where you live. Missouri law will allow a person 17 years old to move from their parents home without consent. However if this friend is hiding and is reported as a missing child, your parents could be in for legal trouble. Better tell your friend to let the parents know where he/she is staying and maybe the parents can work together to resolve the runaways issues.

not if they "don't know" or at least claim they don't.

if the police find out where your friend is they'll just swing by and bring your friend home.
