I'm throwing these items away, so I called the department of sanitation for a special pickup, and they said there was no need for that because the garbagemen would be able to take it all. How could the truck fit all these big items inside?

If it's the same sort we get around here, they have pretty big crushers on them that could handle a TV or whatever.
On the other hand, the garbage collectors around here wouldn't pick up something like that anyway.

The trucks have crushers that compress the garbage. If the dept of sanitation said they would take it, just put it out.

If they can fit in a dumpster, they will fit in the garbage truck.
