There are so many files, programs, etc. on here that I an unfamiliar with that I am perpetually frustrated. Will one computer class clarify things? Is there another way? Each time I download something I feel like I am receiving a whole bunch of sinister "something's" to boot. Spyware or malware. And now, my pc is malfunctioning. And creating things without my knowledge or assistance (like music folders, out of the blue.) Thanks in advance.

You know, before you download anything - it's a good idea to check out the internet with problems about what you're downloading. I've very careful about downloading - only using reputable, no-virus sites.

You could take a basic Computer's 101 course (which I used to teach) and in that class, there are usually lots of questions about software and students are encouraged to bring in a list or talk about their problems - so it would help you a lot.

One class won't clarify things much at all, but you won't be as lost as you were before. If you take some general Windows classes, that will give you a beginning.
