I'm sure many of you are familiar with his work. The PBS TV Series "Cosmos" was a huge success in the early 80's. If you have never been able to see these shows I recommend doing a search on some Video sites like Youtube. I was wondering besides the "Cosmos" series what some of your favorite works by this great man are. My personal favorites are his books "Pale Blue Dot" and "The Demon haunted World".

His science fiction book "Contact" is a classic in the genre. I highly recommend it or the DVD movie that was made from the book. I also recommend his book, "The Varieties Of Scientific Experience."

Many years ago, I watched the Cosmos series! Couldnt wait to see the next episode! About a year ago, I e mailed the Science Channels programming department and made the suggestion to run the series again for todays young people. Others must have requested it too because the series has been running on the Science channel for the last year.

He was a great man! I watched "Cosmos"when I was a kid! Then It was the time that I found out that science could be fascinating for average people like I am! Karl Sagan try to do that! He proved to me, more than others, that genius people actually think and spend their time for our benefit! Not for some egocentric illusion! That was great!

"Contact" the book. And the movie.

He was pretty awesome, huh? Who is there now to fill his shoes as popularizers of exciting science?

I like Neil DeGrasse Tyson and David Grinspoon.

I've never really admired Sagan. His approach to many aspects of science was very flawed, especially in finding extraterrestrial life.
