are the hamsters related?

Okay, I just got two really really cute hamsters from the petshop.. they're a boy and girl. I want to breed them-- but what if they're brother and sister? What do you think?They were in fact in the same aquarium at the shop.... they seem to be the same size though the boy might be a little bigger, they seem pretty young. They are fancy hamsters. Maybe 3 1/2 inches long. The girl is a solid peach/sand color, the boy is grayish.

well the only way i've heard of them getting along is that they need to be litter mates meaning brother and sister so i mean unless you want hamster at each others throats they have to be bro and sis and please be careful cus if u touch early infant hamsters the mother might kill them because of the differences in scent and also be sure of what u are doing before breeding them have people ready to be given hamster because having a house full of nocturnal animals can realy stink.

Pet stores get their animals from breeders. Therefore your male & female, are most likely brother & sister, or cousins.

Please don't breed hamsters, anyways. Not unless you've done LOTS of research on the procedure, and have potential homes for the babies BEFORE mating the hamsters.
