My birthday is a month away and I can't decide whether or not to put a PSP on my list. I've done my research and figured out that the total for the console itself is about $260. I'd have to buy the games using my own money. My only problem is that I'm not obsessed with my games and I'm not a really big gamer. Will I get my money's worth or not? I'm just afriad that I'll get it and then I won't like it or use it as much as I should.

The PSP is not a very stong system games wise. And since you say you arent a big gamer, i wouldnt really reccomend the system itself, if you are interested in portable game system though, i would reccomend the Nintendo DS. While the graphics might not be as good as what the PSP can pull out, the library of games is much bigger and better in my opinion. It plays all released Gamboy, and Gameboy Advace games as well as its own special DS games.

And with games like Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Trauma Center, And a few Warioware titles, it would keep you much more entertained than the PSPs games would. I have a DS and i love it, i take it with me whenever im going to be just sitting around for a long time.

I'd advise you that a lot of the people who lurk around in this part of Yahoo Answers are fanboys of particular videogame companies. So here's the opinion of someone who has no particular loyalties. The PSP has a great game selection, but apart from that you can browse the internet, watch movies and listen to music, just as long as you get a big enough memory stick. I love my PSP it's completely replaced any need I had for an I-POD, I definitely recommend it.

I would! I have a PSP and love it! Not only can you play games, you can watch movies, and store photos, and listen to music on it. In my opinion it's like an ipod that is larger and plays great games too. Oh yea most ipods cost more too. Hope this helps ya!

The Wii has much better games, and its cheaper, same with the DS Lite, PSP isn't worth it

Trust me, if your not into the games that much, you shouldn't get it. If you're going to have to spend that much to use an expensize consol you got for your birthday, just don't get.

No, I have it and it's cool. But it's not that good. You'll get bored easily. Get something else.
