The chicken. This answers the question where did he egg come from?
For all even now most people have to agree that the egg comes from the chicken.
But that does leave the paradox of where did the chicken come from that was whole and entire and perfectly able to lay an egg. How did it come to be that way and from that first time still continue to have chickens reproducing eggs continually even until now.
For me God created the chicken as he created everything else after their kind. And how they are able to reproduce themselves in succeeding generations.

egg because chickens are related to dinosuars which laid eggs. Also many other animals lay eggs and have been on this planet longer than chickens If were talking just chicken eggs we have to determine exactly when the chicken first became a chicken gentically speaking. Did the transformation occur in the egg or after hatching. If it occured in the egg then the egg came first. If the transformation came after hatching then the chicken came first.

I would think the chicken was only a mutation when it came hatched from a egg layed by something resembling a chicken but not quite there yet so I guess Im saying the egg had to come first

I think egg came first. Because egg is like some substance which can come from something else than a chicken but a chicken can only come from an egg.

Doesn't it take two chickens(male, female) to make an egg?
If so than if an egg were first than that is still only one chicken. (assuming that chickens can't be twins; at least not in a single egg)
If chickens were first then must be two chickens to make at least one if not several eggs.
I find it much more fun (in a yin/yang sort of way) to imagine that it must have taken at the very least both a chicken(female) and an egg (male) to perpetuate chickendom(hood?) to what it is today.

had to be the egg, in evolution, variations in traits cause different mutations, traits and/or abnormalities to occur. There must have one once been an animal that changed (however slightly) its genes through a sort of mutation and crossed the line to become a chicken through mating. That would make the egg hatchling a chicken, yet its parents just a very close relative.

Some people feel that this question comes down to evolution or creation.
If you believe God created a chicken, then the chicken came first. If you believe evolution created a chicken then you believe the egg came first.

The chicken. It is easy to prove.
Experiment design: take 1 chicken and 1 egg. Put them on the ground. Make finish line. Yell: “Go!”.
Result: chicken will always come first.
