I don't understand the second half of your message. I think that most of divorces happen due to break-down in communication, a very serious one. Others don't survive because of addictions of one of partners. Another reason is if he/she wants to have kids and the spouse does not. Some people are being simply fullish and give up too early.

Sounds like someone got married too young. Running away from responsibility, going out with friends, and talking on the phone excessively are the signs. Or if they are older, then maybe they missed out on being young, now they want it.

verbal, or emotional, or mental or physical abuse
insecurity
lack of passion
not liking the person one is married to.
one partner wanting children and the other partner not wanting children.
some men are threatened when their wives make more money than they do.
Some women don't like it when their husbands loose their jobs and find themselves more suitable as a "house husband".
drugs and alcohol...any kind of addiction really.
