I work for SSA, so it depends on whether or not he's getting SSI (which is a needs based benefit) or Social Security disability. If it's SSI, your income DOES count and he needs to let SSA know right away that he's gotten married because he may or may not be eligible anymore.
Don't avoid reporting this to SSA. Eventually, we would find out. When he signed up for this, he agreed to report it if he got married.
On the other hand, if he's getting Social Security disability on his own record, it has no bearing on his benefits.
To be sure though, when you get married, he needs to contact SSA and find out if it matters. Most people that get benefits don't have any idea what kind of benefits they're getting. All they know is that a check shows up every month.

certainly there is not any such element as "incapacity PAY", you at the instant are not paid for being disabled. What you will possibly acquire is named "incapacity reward". if your case is authorized then you certainly might get an quantity from SSI from which your lawyer's costs may well be deducted and you gets the soundness. concern is which you're in basic terms allowed to hold onto $2,000 and that's all. so which you will might desire to apply the soundness in direction of issues you % on your incapacity. the quantity you will possibly acquire month-to-month is different for each guy or woman and that i do no longer comprehend how plenty you're authorized for for this reason i won't be able to wager. i've got faith your lawyer additionally utilized for Medicare for you.

It probably will, he should contact his disability worker for his cheque right now, because you have to prepare for a little less income depending on the disability. He is now supported by you and its based on your income what he will get if anything at all. He should and will get something but you should call now its something to be prepared for. Take care Heather

I dont think this will change his payments. You will have to help him with the bills though and you should get him on your medical insurance as he will not be able to get medicaid or medicare anymore. This should not hurt him financially but it might kinda hurt yours.
