They are just small calcification bumps. Just add-ons from the shell gland. A lot of hens in their first year will lay eggs like this- most grow out of it. However the eggs are perfectly safe. And I wouldn't worry about your hen's calcium intake- they'll only ingest as much calcium as they need.

Also sometimes these bumbs aid the egg by filling in small holes that are no bigger than a pencil lead that could potentially harm the hen when passing through the canal.

sounds like some messed up calcium layering on the egg- most hens coat the egg layer by layer with calcium while inside of them. I would say either the hen is coating them in clumps (cancer, old, genetic) instead of smooth layers or there is something nutrient wise that is no allowing her to make normal eggs (maybe the calcium binds to some molecule that makes it clump instead of form smoother layer)

Feed the Hens Oyster Shells... this will help them with producing egg shells..... it also helps them with producing calcium.... they also need grit... and good chicken feed... although, my hens lived off of goat feed and bugs... and they were the best eggs I ever ate... I wouldn't worry too much about the bumps. I know they occured from time to time with my hens too... it never affected the eggs or anything... check store eggs sometime.... they get the bumps too....
