You risk damaging something on the car if you lower it too fast. Usually, the jack will not go down fast enough to get out of the way when it bounces up and down and it contacts the jack. Also, since it is higher than normal when jacked up, bringing it down quickly can damage components because it was not intended to have to deal with that amount of drop. You can bend suspension parts, frame. The shocks can blow out the seals and leak fluid, etc. Whenever you see a car jump, even a foot or two, in the movies, they always go to a different angle a moment later because in real life that car is toast.
