No, smoking during pregnancy is defiantely not reccomended but one time will not make a difference. I smoked up untill my 5th month (shame on me, I still feel horribly guilty), and my son was born perfectly healthy. The main risks of smoking while pregnant are low birth weight and a slightly increased chance of asthma later in life. I am in no way condoning smoking during pregnancy, but I wouldn't hang you head for too long over one cigarette. Congratulations! I'm sure you will have a happy, healthy baby :)

Pretty much everyone says they won't do it a lot when they first start, but than they like the feeling and do it all the time and waste a lot of money on it. That's how "trying" it turned out for me. You can try it if you want, smoke with people who have smoked it before and have them guide you through how to smoke properly. But make sure you inhale and not just hold the smoke in your mouth. You should feel it in your lungs, if you are doing it right. Also weed isn't something that is "cool" to most people. A lot of people just like the feeling, which is why they do it. A high can last 1-4 hours when the weed is smoked. It just depends on how much you smoked and how good the weed was. If you smoked a ton of good weed you'd be high 3-4 hours but if you smoked just a little weed or the weed wasn't good quality you'll only be high an hour or so

I'm sure it will be ok. But if your baby does happen to be born with a problem, chances are you will blame yourself for smoking once! So don't do it again tho and it'll be ok. I had a friend who smoked thru her entire pregnancy and baby was fine. Except of course the usual problems with baby's whos mothers smoke while pregnant= low birth weight, and he was a little premature. Also had to be born thru c-section because his heart rate went. My mother smoked with me and i'm ok. But i was a very sick child with major ear infections constantly. And they say that is a side effect... So try not to make it a habit. I quit the DAY i found out i was preggo and havent touched one since. It's amazing how knowing i was preggo made me quit all the dangerous things i was doing but i would have never given it up for my own self

Any smoke injested into your baby's bloodstream may/could have harmful affects that may not surface for years. It's something we don't know about, but continue to research. I strongly suggest that you don't continue. I have a friend who, unfortunately has not stopped smoking and she is 8 months- not only cigarettes, but marijuana. I am so sorry for her baby.

Sadly i am a horrible person who smoked my entire preg I couldn't quit. I almost commited suicide over it the doctors say there is a physical and mental addiction and They are working with me on it. My daughet was fine with no known problems, However i do not recommend you continuing to smoke at all!!!!! but one shouldn't hurt the baby!!

Seriously doubt it. I was smoking when I found out that I was pregnant, and gradually quit over the next 2 months. My month and a half old girl is absolutly perfect and healthy!

if you mean cigaretts then i dont think once will affect the baby but its not good, i hope to gosh that your not talking about drugs, becuase yes even one time can affect your baby and if your that irresponsible then cps needs to take that baby away. and if in fact a drug screen comes back positive on the baby when its born , dont plan on taking that baby home becuase cps comes in and takes newborns. my mother works on the baby floor shes the one who calls cps.

The answer to this is....Just try to quit a.s.a.p...Your not going to kill your baby ,and it's not going to be deformed...My god, you would have to smoke an ungodly amount of cigerettes, for that to happen...youll be fine!!...If your a smoker, just quit,or cut down each day until you quit..Trust me, I quit with both of my pregnancies.
