I know this sounds corny but after more than fifty years of life and all the things I have seen and done it really does boil down to some very basic values. I get the greatest joy from helping people or holding a new born child, or the hand of a sick friend. people really do need people

Great Question
I mean it

I have heard this quote, though I'm not saying I believe in it, "We are put on earth to learn how to live a good life. Dogs have shorter lives because they are born with a happy-go-lucky aspect on life."

Yet I have also heard this quote (the complete opposite), "When you stop making a contribution, you begin to die."

when people ask me what i want out of life -- wealth, family, fame-- i never used to know what to say. I guess that the meaning of a person's life is what they want for it to be.

for me, life means finding happiness. I don't care if happiness means wealth in one person's terms and love in another person's... finding happiness, even tiny pieces scattered throughout decades, makes up lifetimes.

The "Meaning of Life" is what we make it. There is no preordained meaning . If there were, life would be predetermined and we would all be captive to our "fate."

I suppose the moral OBJECTIVE of life is to live so as to someday become the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
