It is due to static cling that most pet hair adheres to carpet. There are many products available in the market that eliminate said static cling, allowing the hair to be vacuumed up easily. It's fairly easy to use and find. Most products recommend that you sprinkle it on the area to be vacuumed, let it sit for about fifteen minutes, then vacuum it up with your regular vacuum cleaner.

vacuum the carpets, brush the cats daily, get cat hair rollers for your clothes, and if necessary, wash your carpets.
