Oklahoma became the 46th state in the Union on November 16th, 1907. The state's name comes from the Choctaw words okla meaning people and homma meaning red.

Oklahoma is the 46th state. Its capital is Oklahoma City. It is known as the "Sooner State." The Sooners were the people who cheated during the Land Rush. They were able to go to the lands and claimed it even before the race started.
It is in the SOUTHERN USA, midway between east and west coasts.
