The biggest problem is the window between the game and the movie. I would put it at one year most of the time, unless the game was based on a classic. "Good" quality games take time and money. Many take around 3 or 4 years to make and the best quality ones cost around $40 million to make. Chances with games based from movies there isn't that much money put into them. So with a smaller window and lower budget of the better games, they just seem weak.

Just look at the difference between the first Star War games that came out and the later games that came out based on the Star Wars universe. The first game featuing an X-wing and the game X-Wing which came out over 10 years later was very different as far as quality went.

because they need to get the game out before the movie therefore have less time to make the game because games take longer than movies. They also rely on people buying the game just because they're from their favorite movie and rely on marketing more than quality to sell their game. Not all movie games are bad, though. Spiderman 2 was an awesome freeroaming platformer. it got a little monotonous, but it was pretty fun in my opinion.

Thats because the movie company is just soo interested in making as much money as they can from movie merchandise(toys and what-not)they dont take the time to actually make a good game

Its because they are just trying to advertise and make some extra money, they don't even think about making the game good.

I dont know, they seem to be. I hired pirates of the caribbein for ps2 , played it for about 5 mins and then turned it off. its was reallly bad, same with the matrix. they dont make much effort with the graffics or the gameplay.
