That depends on how good a student you are and how much you want to study.
I think quarters are 12 weeks of being in class per term.
Semesters are 9 weeks of being in class per term.
Depending upon how many days a week you sign up for classes, and not counting holidays and breaks when school's closed there's the basic question you have to ask yourself.
Basically do you want to have a Mon/Wed/Fri schedule for about 2 1/2-3 months or the same schedule for about 3-3 1/2 months. The courses will undoubtedly be the exact same, but the longer quarters will probably mean you will be doing more indepth studies of certain chapters, or group projects, or presentations that take more than a week to prepare. Not to say that you won't do projects etcetera on semesters of course but it will be less expansive in the preparation because it's a faster system of schooling.

There are very few situations where it would make a difference. Whereas a college with quarter classes has more semester breaks, a college with semester classes generally has breaks around the same time as those semester breaks. I applied to Dartmouth, which has quarter classes (didn't get in, unfortunately, but whatever). The only real advantage I remember from having quarter classes was that students who do winter sports are able to take their winters off, focusing on their sports then and taking classes during the summer.

There is no difference in the quality of education between the two. Quarters are shorter, generally 3 quarters in a regular academic year(4th quarter is the summer). Semesters are longer and there are just 2 during an academic year. Choose the school that will best meet your academic needs.

With quarter classes, you can end up taking a greater variety of courses, which could be fun. However, it's also a lot easier to get behind, and you end up having to cram an entire semester's courseload into far less time.
