I don't have a Linksys router - mine's DLink - so I can't give specifics, but the principles are the same. You want to set up your router to use WEP security, with a key that only you know. Other users that want to use your wireless connection will need to know your WEP key, or they won't be allowed to connect.

There are other types of security that are better than WEP, but WEP works with the Nintendo DS and Wii and other devices.

Nah!. Not at all difficult.

try this, when you are connected to your router by cable and not wireless (this is important; you would have done this when you were setting it up) open browser and type in the address bar - http://192.168.1.1/

You would see a page with a pop up asking you to put in password and username. Leave the username blank and put "admin" as the password (this is default unless you changed it)

Sometimes username is also "admin"so try with that too. There inside this you will see all the settings and you can put the network key so that no one else accesses it.

I tried doing this, it's a little complicated. On the Router itself, Push and hold the button that says Cisco the light will change from orange to white, you have now en tered the Secure Setting, just follow the steps and hopefully you will be able to do it.

Go to http://www.linksys.com

All the info you need is there and it depends a little on which model you have.

Hope this helps.
