I had a car accident around 4 weeks ago and ended up with various nasty cuts around my eye. I had 40 stitches in these various cuts and had the stitches removed after a week. The doctors are saying that it is healing normally and that I should start to massage the area to help break down scar tissue. Now theres just a few things I wanted to know if anyone out there could offer me a little advice on. Is the Doc right about the massaging?, How long does the natural healing process take to be complete on such an injury as this? How long should I wait before using any sort of scar reducing products, and finally, Is there anyway I can reduce or prevent scarring and scar tissue?. Any advice and help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sorry about the accident. Hope that your feeling better. The cut it self should have been completely healed by now, however, the scar tissue in the underlying layers needs to be loosened up to give you natural flexibility and appearance. When I had surgery my doctor by advised me to use 'Scarzone' or one of the one over the counter creams of that type as soon as he removed the stitches. Apply in a circular motion with moderate pressure four to six times a day. Not only will this help to loosen the scar tissue but it will help to lessen the appearance of the external scar. It worked wonders for me. We thought that I would have a nine inch by 1/2 inch scar and though mine is nine inches long it is about as thin as a pencil line thanks to the Scarzone product. Also, stay out of the sun as much as possible and wear sunscreen or a hat. Best of luck.

Hello, Sorry to here about your accident,
Vitamin E is known for repairing scar tissue, I Use the capsules and also burst them and massage the oil to affected area. Bio oil is also quite good.
Make sure the affected area is closed before you apply any of these. It can take months even yrs for scar tissue to repair.
Good Luck

The healing process depends on the person. For example: I may heal faster than you or vise versa. To help deminish the scarring rub vitamin E onto the area. When My Boyfriend had back surgery we out vitamin E on it and now you can hardly see the scar.

try massaging them. stretch the skin around it, but not to far. massaging helps. also, it will make sure that the scars don't adhere because tat would call for surgery. gently several times a day for like 5 minute is the max you should do it so you can do it less that that. hope this helps!

scaring can take up to 6 months before it starts to fade. Scars will never go completely they will just fade. Massage is very good and when you use cream it keeps the skin supple.

Seen the little skin when breaking an egg, the one stuck to shell? Peel it off and put on wounds.
