Bad.

But let me put it to you this way. Komodo dragons are in captivity they are a threatened species. Zoologists learned a new fact about how it reproduces that could aid in their efforts to save the animals.

Certain threatened plant species are kept in botanical gardens, viable populations, to be reintroduced into the wild just in case they are extirpated.

Are zoos bad? All of them? No. Are they all evil? No. But killer whales aren't really a threatened species and I'm not sure the research on them is going to either help them or hurt them in the long run. Maybe.

NO captivity is good.

Try putting yourself in their position.

Why do we keep animals in captivity? For our pleasure is why. Arrogant species that we are, we believe we can deny such exquisite mammals all their rights to a free and independant existence and trap them, make them dance for us and we think it's funny!

Seaworld are even worse in that they claim that they are doing scientific research or "helping" the animals. What kind of sick concept of "help" do they have???

Anyway, that's my opinion. I know there's not much hope of ever seeing an end of Seaworld...just thought I'd give you a dissenting opinion about live animal captivity.
