my baby will be 4 mos old this week. She is taking appx 3 naps/ day and then sleep. We don't have a regular "schedule' yet, but I am wondering how to do a nap schedule. If she has a bottle at 6pm, then falls asleep close to 8, I know she'll be up appx 9ish for a bottle, then back down. I have to dream feed her too appx 12:30 so she'll sleep until 6 or 7 am. Does this sound like it makes any sense?

Newborns have a wide range of sleeping habits and patterns. Your baby's schedule will change a lot in the first year and what works for a month or two (like rocking) will suddenly no longer work and you will find that you have to try a new method (like laying her directly in her bed or in a swing for naps). It sounds to me like she is doing REALLY well in her sleeping habits now and I wouldn't concern myself about it too much. Others will try to convince you that she should sleep at this time or that time or don't allow her to nap after a certain hour but from my own experience I don't think you should follow that advice. Let her sleep when SHE wants to sleep. Take a nap when she takes a nap. When my daughter was at this age, I would get up early in the morning and do my housework for the day, then she would be up for a while and have her feedings and then in her next nap I would take a shower and get dressed for the day or take a nap along with her. Do what works best for you and your baby. She will let you know what she needs and you have to simply follow your instincts because you are her mother and mothers know best because it's our nature. You will do fine but have confidence and let her sleep as much as she wants.

Sounds perfect. At 4 months, my baby slept whenever and for however long she wanted no matter what I did. She "should" be sleeping 10-12 hours at night and 2-3 naps about 1-2 hours each according to pampers.com
