I have 3.1 acres to cut and i was wondering how long it would take with a ztr 50 inch deck?
its pretty much all flat with very few trees. how long should it aprox. take to mow 3.1 acres with this. also i wanted to see how much faster i would be able to get it done with a 54 or a 60 inch deck...just want to see if its worth a few thousand dollars more for the bigger decks.

Listen, your leaving out a few variables. Power for speed; You'll need power to cut the grass at a faster rate so your not wasting time mowing slower than you aught to. Invest your money in a powerful mower,rather than a bigger deck, what good is a bigger deck that isn't utilized to it's full capabilities. Talk to your tractor dealer for the optimum mower for your application . It may save you time and money.

I have about the same amount of space. It takes me about 4 to 5 hours to mow it all but I mow very slowly because of lots of creatures around like snakes and nesting birds. I do live in the country and am cutting regular lawn, pine grove, and open meadow. I am also cutting down a fully overgrown meadow. I also use a bagger so I have quite a few stops to empty the bagger. I mulch the grass clippings. When I mowed the whole open meadow, it still took me a couple of hours. What's your rush? It is great to be outdoors and you're too noisy and busy to be called in to do something else.
