not only does it not work--but it is very dangerous.
it can cause major preterm contractions & force baby down so that their head is stuck in the birth canal
I saw a story about this not too long ago before I went into labor-the baby ended up dying because their head was wedged in the canal and could not breathe--the 'false' contractions were soo like real ones the baby was being 'forced' into being born
I wish I remember where I saw it, Id give it to you so you could read the story--If I come across it, I'll edit.
you're almost there--just wait for baby to come when he/she is ready.

I read in the pregnancy Bible (What to Expect when You're Expecting) that it's not safe to actually pump before you give birth. Plus, the baby will need all the nutrients avaliable in the colostrum when s/he nurses for the first time.

OMG - don't do this! I heard the same thing and tried it. Talk about excruciating pain!! Well, nothing like labor, but it still brought tears to my eyes. :)

Try sex, regular nipple stimulation, walking...

Luck to you!

I have tried that but it only gave me small contractions. IM TELLING YOU THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS.. the best way to start labor is to have sex. The semen reacts with the mucus plug.. I was 42 weeks prego and someone suggested this to me... the next morning I was in labor.

I've never heard this one! Try going for a walk with a friend---you need to softly move your pelvic muscles

I agree with the "have sex" comment. She is right about the sperm thinning out the mucus plug.

Good luck and Congrats!!

have sex, walk a lot, don't pump, that's not going to do any good
