i am selling my MacBook and i want to reset it so it looks new so the person who buys it enters in their name and details etc. when they first turn in on. Thx in advance guys

what is a mac disk? is it t he os cd that i got with it?

that is the downside of mac, you can't reset it if you don't have mac disk. if you have, great, just insert it, reformat it. if not, you need go to apple store and let them restore it, most of time suppose to be free.

Yeah, in order to set it up like it were brand new, just insert the Mac OS X Installation DVD and reboot the computer holding down the C key. When you re-install Mac OS X you will want to find the extra setup options in the installer and choose to Erase and Install. Once Mac OS X has finished installing, eject the DVD. Instead of going through the registration, just shut the computer down. This will make it so when the person who bought it turns it on, they will experience the same process that you did when you first turned it on.

You can use the OS disk that came with your computer to erase all the files on the hard drive. But that will not delete your accounts. To do that, go to System Preferences – > Accounts.
