I am procrastinating right now by writing this. Stop what you are doing and just do it. The more you put off the harder it will be to start. It's about focusing your mind and committing to you task. Do you want it done? The only way is if you do it. And think of the quality of your work when you give yourself time. I have been putting off school, moving out of the house, finding a job for years!!! That is the worst procrastination because you know what that has gotten me? I am unhappy. My friends are ahead of me in their lives. I am earning less money. My skills have dwindled so I have to start from the beginning. My self-confidence is low because I haven't experienced success. So don't become like that. Believe me I have learned my lesson. Do it now.

Remember Nike - Just do it.

Easier said than done - but mostly I procrastinate because I look for a more opportunate time so that I can do my best and produce the best results.

Off late I have realized that just waiting for the perfect solution, is making me not do anything. So now I have anew motto - Anytime I need to do something - I ask myself a question "Why can I not do this now or in the next 5 minutes?" - there will no doubt be several excuses - but at least it forces me to think of ways to overcome these.

I also tell myself that - I will do it right then and there so I will have several more occasions to perfect it - befor the actual deadline (this is called frontloading).

Finally - I tell myself that I am entitled to some mistakes and the sooner I make them the better I correct them.

So the mantra - "right now, front loading, make mistakes" - has been very helpful for me.

motivator - I remind myslef of the agony I would have gone through without tackling anything ahead of schedule.

I am aware of the painful fact that when I decide to do something immediately it might not be the right or most efficient use of time - but I will have to live with that till I am more organized and have cleared up some backlog of items in my life.

Oh ... yes - I keep a diary now .... with two running lists -one from the front and another from the last page back. The item in the front are shore immediate items and the ones in the back are long term goals. Every time I finish something I cross it out. Counting the number of crosses is a good morale booster.

Now I try to even compete myself and see how many things I can cross off in any day. What goes in the list ? every thing I need to do plus, I want do , plus I would some day like to be able to do ...

If I can't stop, why should you?
Seriously, it's something I've never been able to solve in my own life. Maybe that's because I enjoy the thrill of racing to do things at the last minute.
There are some things that I am proactive about, like paying bills. For some reason I can always nail those, especially with my bank's electronic bill-pay technology.
This could be because I see getting bills paid and keeping my lights on as something pleasant, while going to work or school might "require" enough preparation to make me late, which means I'm probably not enthused about getting there on time in the first place.
If there is an answer here, perhaps it is to find some feel-good association with doing problem things early, and to keep reinforcing it by rewarding yourself for your punctuality.
If I have learned one thing, it is that most people are quick to do the things they like, but the non-procrastinators get on the tough stuff early so they won't have to worry about it later.
After all, the more you put it off, the more worrisome it becomes, right?

Always remember that time is gold, and therefore it is not wise to waste your precious time. Lost opportunity is also gold wasted. You can not take back the hands of time, hence, the saying, make hay while the sun shines.

Get things done.... fast... before you regret for the rest of your life.

Well, motivate yourself to do things at the moment you receive them, such as homework.

The quicker you get into it, the quicker it gets done. Remember, doing things at the last minute it HORRIBLE, it's stressful & by doing things earlier you have more time to do them and you're not as stressed.

Try getting yourself really focused in something, once you're focused it's really easy to get things done!
