I agree with you, it's surprising how many people didn't get it.
What you are doing is making folly of the thought that it is possible for a person to choose their sexual preference. Notice that not one coherent reply was given how this could be done.
You cannot choose the color of your eyes, your height, intellect, etc, etc., etc., and that includes your sexual preference.
During the last presidential debate, Bush was asked: " Is sexual preference chosen or given". His reply: "I don't know".
It's spooky that a man that gave this inane answer is now the President of the United States.

It's not a choice, I believe that whole-heartedly. I have several gay friends who tried to pretend they were straight, for YEARS they tried to hold relationships with the opposite sex. That didn't work, and eventually they had to give in that they were homosexual.
You can't force yourself to be gay anymore than a gay man or woman could force themselves to be straight. Maybe if you're not finding women attractive anymore it's more of an emotional thing (something maybe you need to work out for whatever reason) and not a physical one.
Or perhaps, as hard as it may be to hear, you're asexual. Do some reasearch on it all. You'll find the answers your looking for, but it won't be on Yahoo.

That is one of the theories. I'm sure that there is some people that they do it by choice as in they like to experiment or they just like it yet do not feel gay. Like the romans. They used to like sodomising their defeated foes to demoralized them. Funny people those romans. Also, it was ok for them to have sexual relationships with another men as long as they where the ones on the giving end. So, maybe there is something to this I choose to do another man thing. But, I don't think you can force yourself to like something you like. That would be like eating something thattaste nasty. You may force a few spoon fulls but you won't be eating that every day if you don't like it.
Another explanation that I heard is that being gay is caused by an interruption in the natural sexual development of a child. That is something was different when they where growing up as in they where abused or they where exposed to something they where not supposed to.

According to the best science, you probably need to undergo genetic engineering if you are heterosexual and want to become homosexual.
It would also be helpful to develop as a foetus in a uterus previously occupied by your older brothers. There could be some practical difficulties with this if you are already an adult.

Some of the same people who insist that it's a choice, also blame maternal coddling, or paternal disinterest, or both. So you see, it's not entirely your fault that you can't make the switch on your own.
Or as Philip Larkin said, "They f*ck you up, your mum and dad." Only yours didn't, so oddly enough, you're f*cked.
Glad I was able to clear that up.

People say a lot of things. If you are happy being straight, you know who you are, then why do you have to think about being gay ?
Many Homosexuals have sexual identity issues, that's why they are gay.

that's what ive been saying too. try getting an erection fantasizing on someone of the same sex, and try not having an erection when someone of the opposite sex is giving you a lap dance
im also surprised how people cannot get the question myself. maybe the ignorant ones are the anti gays.
