Forcing blacks to change their hair to fit "Anglo" standards is ignorant and indirect racism. It's not cheap or easy for blacks, especially women, to manage their hair, to keep it straight, and generally cornrolls, etc last a long time and don't require much managment. And it's representative of African American, or other black ethnic cultures which should be respected and not put down. A person can appreciate their own ethnic heritage in whichever ways they want and be a professional business person as well. If employers are not able to look past this, they do not have very good priorities. It's not very much different than turbans, hijabs, skullcaps, yarmulkes or any other ethnic hairstyles.
