I know this is a strange question but for some reason I feel connected to Chemistry because of what complication it has. I am new to this (completely) but I have a strange attraction to learn it. I like how Chemistry works such as formulas and Chemicals rather than making colors or fumes. I know basic chemistry but i am only in the 9th grade. I go to a community college for a program and I want to hear your responses on this. Should I try it or something I should steer clear from? How did you find out Chemistry and why did you choose to stick with it? Please leave me comments because his is something that is new and i want to find out more about it. I will bring additional information if you need it. Thanks for reading!

As a chemistry Ph.D. who has spent his life in chemistry, I urge you to go for the colors and fumes as well as formulas and substances. Colors either come from charge-transfer complexes (deep, vibrant colors) or forbidden transitions ("light" but important colors). When I did my doctoral dissertation, it depended upon making for the first time certain compounds, closely related by structure, that had not existed before. One day, I rushed to my dissertation professor's office with samples, asking him to smell which was this and what was that. He wrinkled his nose and said, "It all smells like bad gasoline!" It may be that you will be attracted to physical chemistry--in particular to quantum mechanics.

That isn't a strange question at all. If you feel drawn to chemistry then by all means go for it. There are multitudes of jobs out there that are chemistry related - in a sorts of fields. From food to plastic, teaching to quality control...the options are endless!

Well being in The 9th Grade you prob already have been exposed to it. If it is free class i would recommend you taking it. If you have to pay for it then i would say to take it at a time that you can really spend alot of time with it.
