I would say it is just a case of the 'Thumbs Down Fairy' at work. It happens when she sprinkles grumpy dust on the answerers on here. She works in conjunction with the 'Thumbs up Fairy' but I have heard that the later has a drinking problem so may have been indisposed at the time you posted a question or answer.

Honey, I get thumbs down all the time... It has NOTHING to do with you!!!

On some of my questions, some people would write stupid answers, and I either just ignore it or call them out for the dumbass that they are!

Some days, as an answerer, I get in a picking mood, and I may say something like "learn to spell," or something like that when it comes to racist questions, religion, or a totally unintelligible question. Some people take it so personally that it almost kills them like this one old lady who almost crapped her pants because I said she couldn't spell!!! I meant no harm and was just having fun, but obviously it was the end of the world for her. I just thought granny needed a little advice....

You're not like that--you're a good guy---you may just have been a victim of national a**hole day or something--LOL!!!!
